This past Sunday was an incredible day in
the life of Front Street. It was certainly a day of rejoicing
as we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord. Thank you,
Jeremy, for the message at the Sunrise Service, and thank you
hospitality team for the wonderful breakfast. I would also
like to thank everyone who worked long hours this week to get
the sanctuary back to normal and ready for the Easter
services. Your tireless efforts are greatly appreciated.
Prior to Easter, we spent eleven weeks exploring
what transformation looks like in the lives of believers. I
hope you took some time during those eleven weeks to do some
diagnostic testing on your own life to see if you are living a
transformed life. In a follow-up to that series, I would like
to look at Front Street's process for discipleship.
Transformation takes place in a person's heart as they grow in
their walk with Christ. As a church we must ask the question,
what kind of disciple are we trying to make? Do we have a
clear process to lead people to maturity in
Christ?
Beginning this Sunday, we are going to look at
the very beginning of our discipleship process which is
connecting people to God. During our Sunday morning worship
service, people have the opportunity to come to know Christ or
to grow in their relationship with Christ. It is our desire
that each person develops a growing and intimate relationship
with Christ. This is the purpose behind our worship service -
connecting people to God. Our text Sunday will come from
Romans 1:20-25. Everybody worships something or someone. We
want to help people connect to the One and Only True
God!
I look forward to worshipping with you this
Sunday! Be sure to invite a friend!

Prayer
Point
A Prayer for
Forgiveness
In the wake of
such a wonderful and meaningful Resurrection Celebration, I
know the uppermost thought on your mind is the same as is on
mine: thankfulness for the agony and torture our Lord went
through so that we could be forgiven of our sin nature and
every sin we have or ever will commit - especially since there
is nothing we could ever do to deserve it.
My Sunday School
lesson this week is on "The Seven Last Sayings of
Christ". Do you
realize that Jesus' first words from the cross were a prayer
to His Heavenly Father for forgiveness for those who mocked
him, beat him, spat upon him, drove spikes through His hands
and feet - even gambled for His clothing? "Father, forgive
them", he prayed - even though they didn't deserve
it.
Since we have
been the recipients of such great forgiveness, can we do any
less than follow Jesus' example and pray for the forgiveness
of those who have abused us--even though they don't deserve
it?
Lord, help me to
be a forgiving person.
Help me to forgive others. If I have any anger,
bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness that I am not
recognizing, reveal it to me and I will confess it to You as
sin.
Specifically, I ask you to help me fully forgive (name
someone you feel you need to forgive). Make me to understand
the depth of Your forgiveness toward me so that I won't hold
back forgiveness from others. I realize that my
forgiving someone doesn't make them right; it makes me
free. I also
realize that You are the only one who knows the whole story,
and You will see justice done. (Stormie O'Martian, A
Book of Prayer)
"The discretion of a man makes
him slow to anger, and his glory is to overlook a
transgression." (Proverbs 19:11).
The medicine of
forgiveness brings healing to the body - whether individual or
church. Will you
join me in forgiving?
His servant and your
friend,
ginny

Bathroom / Breezeway Project
Update
We were recently advised by
the Iredell County Inspections Department that we have now met
all of their requirements and that a building permit could be
issued for enclosing the walkway and the construction of the
restrooms. With all that is planned around FSBC before
Easter, our contractor agreed that it would be wise to delay
further work until after Easter. Expect an update at our
Family Business Meeting on April
18. |

THANK YOU!
To the Members of Front Street,
Thank you all very much for the prayers and
visits during my hospital stay. We appreciate you all!
Love, Charlie and Geneva Stikeleather
Dear Members of Front Street Baptist Church,
What a performance! Everyone of you should be
proud of the job that you did putting this beautiful pageant
on. I am a recent retiree from Connecticut and I have
never seen anything like it. You had me in
tears. Thank you!
My Best to all of you, Janet Acker
Dear Members of Front Street,
On Sunday, April 1 I was blessed so very much for being
present at your church for the wonderful presentation of the
Statesville Easter Pageant. It was some kind of great
production. Thank you so very much and I look forward
to being present another year and telling others about
it.
One of your members invited me and I am very grateful
to her.
Enclosed you will find a small token of my appreciation
to you, your church and especially Margaret Kilpatrick who
invited me.
Thank You, Mrs. Libby Blanton
To all who helped in parking during the Easter Pageant,
I want to say a big Thank You. You did an outstanding
job and may God bless you for your help.
Thanks Again, John
