 A Word From the Pastor

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day is one of the most special days of the year. It is a day set aside to recognize our mothers and the impact they have made on our lives. For many, Mother's Day will be a time where you are able to visit your mother and tell her how much you love her and how much she means to you. Please do not take that time for granted.  For others in our congregation, Mother's Day will be a time to celebrate the memories of your mother. I know this day will be difficult for you in many ways. I pray that God will comfort you and remind you of the good times you had with your mother. Still for others in our congregation, Mother's Day will be a time to remember a child who has gone home to be with the Lord. There is also a special place in my heart for those of you who have been unable to have children. I pray that we are sensitive to the needs and hurt within our church family.

This Mother's Day, my prayer is that we give God thanks for the mothers He has given us. We would like to celebrate our moms this Sunday morning by having muffins in the breezeway before Sunday School and before worship. I hope that you will take a moment to come by so that we as a church can say thank you for all you are doing in the lives of your children. I know that I speak for more people than myself in saying that no matter how old we get, we love our moms dearly and value their input in our lives. We cherish every second with them and never stop thanking God for allowing us to be loved by them.

I love and appreciate all of you mothers, but I especially appreciate mine. God has richly blessed me and I shall never cease to thank Him for the gift He gave me in my mom. I love you, Mom! He has also greatly blessed me in giving me such a wonderful mom for my children. I love you, Dionne!

A Mother's Love

Oh for the love of a mother's tender care,
Oh for the hours she spent in prayer.
Oh for the love she gave so tenderly,
Not once regretting her children's urgent needs.
Thank God for her,
She is so dear to me.
