 A Word From the Pastor

This coming Sunday we will be examining our churches Samaria. When Jesus told His disciples that they would be His witnesses in Samaria, He was focusing more on the people than the geographic region. We know that the relationship between the Jewish people and the Samaritans was bad to put it mildly. In fact, they hated each other.

This Sunday, we will examine our Samaria. We can think of our Samaria geographically, racially, ethnically, culturally or religiously. When you think of it in all those perspectives, our best parallel to Samaria would be our own nation. There are many things we can do throughout North America. Did you realize that 7 out of every 10 people in America do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ? That number comes to about 235 million people who will spend eternity separated from God.

The population of our country is growing at a much higher rate than that of our missions force. I pray that we as a church will join that force and seek to win our country to Jesus Christ. We will do this through praying, giving and going. What is God calling you to do? How does He want to make a difference through you? This coming church year you will see several opportunities to join in missions trips to multiple places within the United States.

I thank the Father for all that He is doing in our church. It is exciting to see people coming to faith in Christ as well as the people He is bringing to our church to be involved in His mission.

Hungering for Christ,
Pastor Tim

"I'm a Christian Now!"

New Discipleship Class for Children

"I'm a Christian Now" is a four week class for children who have recently prayed to receive Christ.  This class covers the basics of what happens next.  Things like: what it means to be a Christian, your testimony, baptism, Lord's Supper, the church, and spending time with God.

The class will be taught by Karen Shea during the Sunday School hour in the month of August.  The first class begins August 3 (skipping Aug 10, due to the Acts 1:8 Lay Renewal Weekend). We will meet for worship as usual in the fellowship hall and then move upstairs for the class.

PLEASE let Karen know if your child will be attending.  There is a workbook required, which needs to be ordered.  There is no fee for the class or the workbook.

Do you have news and announcements for Sunday Morning? If so, please send them to: news@frontstreet.org or call the church office by Thursday morning of that week. We will insert your announcement into our slide show presentation before the service begins. Please be sure to include any clipart or photos.
