 A Word From the Pastor

Thank you all who came out Sunday night to minister in our community. In just over an hour, we made around 300 contacts and we were able to share with people that there is a God who loves them. I would like to ask everyone to pray for those contacts, that God would use the seeds that were planted to bring people to faith in Jesus Christ. May we all be about the kingdom purpose that God has for us.

This coming Sunday we will examine our Judea. In our context, we will focus in on North Carolina and specifically North Carolina Baptist Men. The Baptist Men Construction Ministry mobilizes volunteers to use their skills, talents, and time in response to disasters and construction projects that will further God's kingdom in North Carolina, across the United States and around the world.  Also under the area of Baptist Men, we will have an opportunity to adopt a village in Bihar, India. Consider the following facts about Bihar, India.

  • Bihar has a population of 85 million people with over 45,000 villages.
  • It is one of the poorest states in India (major problems include very poor health care, high infant mortality, access to clean water and almost a 50 percent illiteracy rate).
  • Less than ½ of 1 percent of the people in Bihar are Christians.

What can we do?  For $2800 we can provide a well, literacy training, a bicycle for a church planter, 200 Bibles, hymnals, and a medical clinic in that village. For an additional $75 a month, we can sponsor a church planter to share Christ with the village and equip them to share Christ with the villages around them. To learn more about this project, you can visit http://www.ncmissions.org/Projects/OutsideUS/india.aspx.

During our Global Missions Celebration weekend, we will collect an offering for this mission work. Our goal is $2,800, but how awesome would it be if we raised $5,600 and were able to adopt two villages! Please ask the Father for His direction as we have an opportunity to work through North Carolina Baptist Men to reach the world for Christ!

Baptism Celebration August 3rd

We are planning a Baptism Celebration for Sunday, August 3.  There are a number of people who have recently accepted Christ or have joined the church and are in need of baptism.  If you would like to be baptized on this day, please contact the church office (704-872-7623) and set up an appointment to meet with Pastor Tim if you have not already spoken with him.

You will be provided with a list of "prospective attendees".

Please contact them to confirm number attending.

Feel free to invite friends & neighbors.

VBS DVD Packages Available!

A DVD package, which includes the "spotlight drama", a video of the week's activities and Sunday's worship service will be available soon.  Sign-up sheets will be outside the church office.  The cost will be $6.00 per package.

  High 5!

Our next High 5! will be Wednesday, July 30.  We will meet in the Jabez classroom at 2:30 p.m. to decorate handbags, soccer "GO" balls, and business cards.  We will be helping the youth with their Home Mission Trip by handing out church information and water bottles at Lakewood Park and McAnderson Park.  Afterwards, we will be eating dinner at CiCi's pizza (back by popular demand).  Bring $5.00 and a non-perishable food item.

"I'm a Christian Now!"

New Discipleship Class for Children

"I'm a Christian Now" is a four week class for children who have recently prayed to receive Christ.  This class covers the basics of what happens next.  Things like: what it means to be a Christian, your testimony, baptism, Lord's Supper, the church, and spending time with God.

The class will be taught by Karen Shea during the Sunday School hour in the month of August.  The first class begins August 3 (skipping Aug 10, due to the Acts 1:8 Lay Renewal Weekend). We will meet for worship as usual in the fellowship hall and then move upstairs for the class.

PLEASE let Karen know if your child will be attending.  There is a workbook required, which needs to be ordered.  There is no fee for the class or the workbook.

News and Announcements

Do you have news and announcements for Sunday Morning? If so, please send them to: news@frontstreet.org or call the church office by Thursday morning of that week. We will insert your announcement into our slide show presentation before the service begins. Please be sure to include any clipart or photos.

ATTENTION CHURCH FAMILY!

We still need food donations for our Home Mission next week!  Specifically, we need fruit for fruit baskets that we are making for our shut-ins.  If you prefer, money donations actually work better than the food (money won't spoil!  Plus, we enjoy shopping as a group for what will be needed.)

Thanks!

Youth to Baby Sit!

For the first 20 couples to sign up, the youth will watch your children, ages 2 to 10, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. while you go out on a date on Friday, August 1!  Sign-up sheets will be located outside the church office.
