 A Word From the Pastor

This coming Sunday

I have a special opportunity this coming Sunday morning to preach for the Hispanic Missions' 4th anniversary. As soon as we finish our morning service, I will be going over to Holland Chapel to preach. Pastor Daniel said to be sure to invite everyone from our church. I believe it would mean so much to them if we could celebrate with them. God is doing some an amazing work in this congregation and I hope that you will pray for Pastor Daniel, his family and the church daily.

Cascade Baptist Church

Also this Sunday, we have an opportunity to support Cascade in hosting a fall festival. At the end of the service, there will be ushers standing at the doors to take up a love offering in order to help support the fall festival. Pastor Jon Lindeman is doing such an incredible job at Cascade and it is awesome that we can partner alongside of them as they seek to reach out to their community.

Ordination for Jon Lindeman

Finally, I would like to invite all of you to take part in an ordination service for Pastor Jon. The service will be held on Sunday, November 9, (Jon's birthday), at 4:00 in the sanctuary at Front Street. What an awesome time for us to be able to lay hands on Jon and send him out from Front Street. It is obvious the call God has on his life and it is also obvious how God is using his obedience. It is an honor that we have this opportunity to ordain Jon at Front Street.

Proposed Church Constitutional Revision

The church will be voting on the following constitutional revision

in our quarterly business meeting on Sunday October 26 at 4:00 p.m. :

Current reading of the constitution (10.6): Raising Funds: It shall not be the practice of this church to promote suppers, parties, or engage in the sale of products and/or services for the purpose of raising funds.

Proposed Change: Raising Funds: No fund raising for this church or in this church for any other group or cause shall be undertaken with the exception of missions fund raising. All missions fund raising would require approval of the Governing Council and the missions team. Other fund raising requests may be considered  as an exception, but would require approval of the body of the church.
