A Word From the Pastor

Update from the Family Business Meeting

The church voted last night to change the constitution regarding the raising of funds. There was an amendment to the proposed change. Article 10.6 of the constitution now states:  Raising Funds: No fund raising for this church or in this church for any other group or cause shall be undertaken with the exception of missions fund raising related to the church's global mission strategy. All missions fund raising would require approval of the Governing Council and the missions team. Other fund raising requests may be considered as an exception, but would require approval of the body of the church.

The church also voted on a recommendation from the personnel committee to add the position of Missions Pastor to the staff and have that position filled by Kenny Lamm. Kenny's official new title is Missions and Worship Pastor. Kenny has done a tremendous job over the last six months helping our church to develop a global missions mindset as well as a global missions strategy. We have all been blessed by Kenny's leadership in the areas of worship and missions and I ask you to join me in praying for Pastor Kenny as he listens to the Father.

Upcoming Election

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

With the election quickly approaching, it is not only important that Christians show up at the polls on or before November 4, but it is important that they come before the throne of God each day. As Christians, we understand the significance of our voice and our vote. However, even more important than our vote, is that we as the children of God, humble ourselves daily before the throne of God praying and seeking His face. As Christians, we must turn from our evil ways. According to this Scripture, it is only then that God will heal our land. I want to challenge you to make seeking God the highest priority of your life, not just during this election, but each day God gives you on this earth.

Upcoming Sermon Series
We are going to be taking several weeks off from our study in the book of John. Our study will resume at the beginning of the New Year.  This coming Sunday I will be starting a 3 week series dealing with membership at Front Street. We have a new members class that will begin this coming January. Since many of you have questions concerning the class, I thought it would be best to go through the material with the church body.

Looking forward to Sunday!

Pastor Tim
