A Word From the Pastor

40 Days of Prayer

Beginning February 25, our church is going to be entering into 40 Days of Prayer. If you were not able to pick up a prayer guide this past Sunday, we have more available in the church office.  We will also be mailing a copy to all of our Saints and Home and Saints in Care.

It is our hope that over this 40 day period, our church will unite as we cover our church body, our mission trips, our mission partnerships, our ministries and our staff in prayer. We will be sending the daily prayer request out with our daily email. O God, You are my God, earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You, my body longs for You, in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. I have seen You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and Your glory. Psalm 63:1-2

This Coming Sunday

This Sunday will be part 2 in our Bread of Life series. Our focus verse for this coming Sunday is John 6:53 - Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you." Please take time to read through all of the verses, John 6:41-59 as we prepare for Sunday. We will also be partaking of the Lord's Supper this Sunday, so I would ask that we all spend time examining ourselves so that we partake in a worthy manner. 1 Corinthians 11:27-34. Looking forward to Sunday!

Pastor Tim

Meet Me at Luigi's

We have a wonderful opportunity to support our youth missions trip to the Dominican Republic and enjoy a great meal and show.  Our youth are putting together a  dinner theatre production entitled, Meet Me at Luigi's.  The cost of the meal and show is $10.00 per person.  All proceeds go to help with expenses of the youth missions trip.  Each person going on the trip needs to raise an additional $700 through this fundraising event, donations, and personal payments.

The show has an evangelistic appeal, and it would be great for you to buy tickets and bring your unsaved friends, co-workers, and neighbors.  Sunday School classes may wish to buy tickets for their NB Mills teacher and his/her spouse to attend.

Three performances are scheduled on Friday, March 20th and Saturday, March 21st.  Tickets will be available at church in the breezeway and outside the back door.

Thank you for your assistance in this.

Two-Day Missions Opportunity to Help Families in Substandard Housing

Our church will be going on a missions trip to Red Springs Missions Camp on the 12th of March.  You can make a big difference in the life of a family living in substandard housing. We will be leaving the church parking lot at 6:00pm and returning to the church on Saturday night March the 14th.  Please sign up and list your abilities in home construction and maintenance.  We will also need you to bring your tools to work with.

Areas of work include:

  • Carpentry
  • Electrical
  • Painting
  • Plumbing
  • Masonry

The cost of the trip is $15.00 per day.  You will need to bring sheets and towels as well as other toiletries you require.

For more information about the camp, visit: http://www.ncmissions.org/Projects/NorthCarolina/RedSprings.aspx and http://www.biblicalrecorder.org/content/news/2008/06_18_2008/ne18062008red.shtml

If you are interested in going, please contact Keith Somers at ksomers@yadtel.net or contact the church office. We will send you a form that you must fill out.

Kleenex BoxFebruary is Kleenex Collection Month for N.B. Mills School

This month, we will be collecting Kleenex for N.B. Mills School.  We will not be collecting items for Teen Challenge as previously published.  Teen Challenge has relocated outside of our area.  We do plan to continue financially supporting them at least through the remainder of this year.  However, due to their new location, we will discontinue any monthly missions collection items for them.

Any items you may bring in intended for Teen Challenge will be donated to the South Yadkin Baptist Association to help needy families.  Thank you for your faithfulness in missions!

How to Become Part of the Front Street Family

First, we would like to thank you for your interest in Front Street.  Before becoming a member, we feel that you should truly understand our heart and vision before you join our church family, and the new member's class is designed to help you have a clear understanding of your new church family.

Please note that you are not required to join Front Street after attending the New Member's Class.  In fact, you will not be pressured in any way to join.  We want to encourage you to continue to seek God's will on whether He desires for you to plant your life here with us.

The new member's class is a four week class, held during the Sunday School hour.  The next class will be held  in May.  Those dates are May 3, 10, 17 and 24.  To sign up for the class, please contact the church office at (704) 872-7623 or email Pastor Tim at tim@frontstreet.org.
