A Word From the Pastor

This past Sunday was such a great day. It was awesome to see the families of those being baptized as well as some people from our community. Please continue to pray for the 257 people who surrendered their heart to Jesus this past week. Also pray for the follow up that will be taking place in the weeks, months and years to come.

Our message this Sunday is from John 7:14-36. Our story picks up at the Feast of Tabernacles. Even though the people were seeking to kill Jesus, we find Him there in the temple, teaching the Word of God. The people were amazed by His teaching. As they confronted Him about His teaching, Jesus responded by saying, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me" (v. 16). For Jesus, the doctrine of God is of great importance. Too often today, when we hear the word doctrine, we think of scholars and others who are smarter than we are. The truth is, we too are called to proclaim the doctrine of God. Please spend some time this week in this passage as we prepare for our time together Sunday.

Something that you will be hearing about throughout the month of May is Prayer Partners. This is something that I feel God has put on my heart for our church. Too many Christians walk through this life without the prayer support and accountability of a Godly friend. Over the next several weeks you will be challenged to join up with a prayer partner. This will be someone you meet with or talk to on a weekly basis. Our goal is to have 52 Prayer Partnerships established by the end of May. Pease look for more information in the Sunday morning service as well as the Link and bulletin.

The National Day of prayer is Thursday, May 7. I would like to encourage everyone who can to come by the church that day and spend time at the altar praying for our families, our church, our community and our nation. Since not everyone has the same break time or lunch time, please come anytime during the day that you are able.

 THANK YOU!

Hello, Folks,

This is just a note to thank you for your interest, your prayers, your concern for Lynn (and me) during his illness and hospitalization with the thickening which caused the obstruction in his small intestine. I am so grateful that the obstruction was NOT cancer related and that it could be and was surgically removed. Thank you for your visits to him since he is improving and able to sit up and to walk with a walker; and thank you for NOT visiting when he was so very sick, only partially aware of his surroundings and with the nasogastric tube, the swollen tongue, the central line in his neck for feedings/medicines, and with a great deal of pain and discomfort otherwise. I do not know what the doctors have in mind for the length of his hospital stay, but of course I am looking forward to his being well enough to be at home again.

With love and thanks, Dorcas Dyson

Dear Church Family,

I appreciate so much your kind and caring response to my request for prayers during my recent hospital stay.  The prayers, visits, calls and cards were so uplifting.  Please continue to pray for me as I recuperate at home.

God Bless you all,  Betty Kilpatrick
