A Word From the Pastor

Off to Asia

It is hard to believe that our trip is already at hand. The Lord has so incredibly blessed our church this past year. It is such a blessing to see the number of ways He has used our church family in mission trips at home and abroad. This coming year will provide many new opportunities for people to be on mission with God. I believe we can all be part of missions whether it be through praying, giving or going.

I feel very blessed to have this opportunity and I trust things will go well while we are gone. I know that brother Ron Harrison will have some wonderful sermons that will challenge and encourage each of you. Please remember him in prayer as he is looking forward to this time with you. On behalf of the Asia Mission Team, we will all miss being here and our time of worship with you. We pray for those who will be leading you in worship as I know that you will be praying for us as well.

I love you and I pray for you!

Pastor Tim

News...

Celebrate Recovery Ministry News…..Celebrate Recovery is progressing well and we continue to grow.  We want to extend a special Thank you to  Maria (last name withheld for confidentiality)  that shared a powerful, personal testimony discussing her life growing up and how the love of God has transformed her into a new creature in Christ.   There was not a dry eye in the fellowship hall as we heard this remarkable story.  Those of you that missed it, really missed an extraordinary  opportunity to see God’s amazing love displayed in this wonderful lady and her family.  Maria shared with us poor choices and consequences as well as the Power of God’s truth in transforming her life and her children’s future.

We are continuing in study of the 12 Steps.  We have studied Step 1 (Denial – admitting our issue and that we are NOT God) and Step 2 (Being Powerless without God).  This coming Monday, July 20,, we will study Step 3, HOPE.  In this lesson we will learn to honestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him and that He has the power to help us recover.  We need support and attendance from the church family.  Front Street member attendance is very poor averaging less than six per week.  This is a vital mission for our community.  You don’t have to go out of town to find ways to show the Love of Christ to others.  The need within the shadow of our steeple is Great.    Please join us Monday evening 630-7  Meal, Program 7-8,  Small support groups 8-9.    You’ll be glad you did!

For information or for volunteer opportunities, please contact us at CR@frontstreet.org

In Christ’s Love,

Dan & Brenda Thompson

How to Become Part of the Front Street Family

First, we would like to thank you for your interest in Front Street.  Before becoming a member, we feel that you should truly understand our heart and vision before you join our church family, and the new member's class is designed to help you have a clear understanding of your new church family.

Please note that you are not required to join Front Street after attending the New Member's Class.  In fact, you will not be pressured in any way to join.  We want to encourage you to continue to seek God's will on whether He desires for you to plant your life here with us.

The new member's class is a four week class, held during the Sunday School hour.  The next class will be held  in August.  Those dates for the adult class or for the children's class are August 9, 16, 23 and 30.  To sign up for the adult class (which includes youth), or to sign your child up for the children's class, please contact the church office at (704) 872-7623 or email Pastor Tim at tim@frontstreet.org.

As people are led to accept Christ as Savior and Lord in the Toy Store and each week in the Clothes Closet and Food Pantry, we have become aware that it is time to begin a new ministry.  This ministry is to teach those who accept Christ through a four-week time of discipleship.  They will learn how to begin to walk with Jesus!  Rev. Bill Mason and Carol Froehlich will be the four-week session leaders.

The time is:

6:30 - 8:00 p.m. every Monday night beginning July 27th

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Volunteers are needed to teach and lead a VBS-like time

with children as the parents are learning.

Volunteer today by contacting Mary Jane Hoover

at (704) 873-4372 ext. 3 or mhoover@sybaptist.org.

S.Y.B.A. Children's Ministry Summer Camps

July 16th and July 30th

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Baptist Center

Children's Ministry Camps are open to any child preschool through 5th grade who are members or attend one of our S.Y.B.A. churches. Each camp will be hosted by one of our youth groups and will feature different themes and Bible stories, so the children are welcome to attend more than one camp. We also will have music, crafts, refreshments, and games. Campers are encouraged to be involved with the Baptist Center Food Pantry by bringing a donation of food, toiletry item or school supply.

Contact Mary Jane Hoover for more details or to register your child. mhoover@sybaptist.org or 704-873-4372 ext. 3.
