Hello everyone! We appreciate all of your prayers as our trip continues to go very well. We miss you and continue to pray for you.

Family Business Meeting

On Sunday, August 9, we will have our annual Family Business Meeting. This meeting is always a great time as we hear reports from the different ministries and look ahead to the new church year. During this meeting, we will vote on deacons for the new church year, the nominating committee report and the unified church budget.

New Member's Class

We will start our New Member's class on August 9. If you are planning to attend, please contact the church office at 704-872-7623. The class will last four weeks. Also, if there are any children who would like to attend the New Member's Class for children, led by Karen Shea, please contact the church office. This is a great way to find out more about Front Street and what we are about. It is also a time to meet the staff and allow us to get to know you.

We appreciate your continued prayers for us and our families while we are away. It sounds like Kevin and Ron are doing a great job of leading you in worship. Thank you to all of those who have filled in the gap while we are away.

Love you guys!

News...

Celebrate Recovery Ministry News.....   Many of you are asking,  "What IS Celebrate Recovery?".  The answer is simple.  In fact  many of us are discussing this ministry's Mission in our current Sunday School lessons.    GRACISM Is What Celebrate Recovery is All About!

Celebrate Recovery is:

·         A safe place to share your heart

·         A refuge

·         A place of belonging and acceptance

·         A place to care for others and be cared for

·         A place where respect is given to each member

·         A place where confidentiality is highly regarded; it is a requirement for our success

·         A place to learn

·         A place to demonstrate Christ's love

·         A place to grow and become strong again

·         A place for progress

·         A safe place where you can take off your mask and allow others to know you

·         A place for healthy challenges and healthy risks

·         A possible turning point in your life

Why Celebrate Recovery is unique to other recovery programs:

1.       Celebrate Recovery is based on God's Word; the Bible.

2.       Celebrate Recovery emphasizes spiritual commitment to Jesus Christ.

3.       Celebrate Recovery is forward looking.

4.       Celebrate Recovery emphasizes personal responsibility.

5.       Celebrate Recovery utilizes the Biblical truth that we need each other in order to grow spiritually and emotionally.

6.       Celebrate Recovery addresses all types of hurts, habits, and hang-ups.

We are a Christ Centered Recovery Program Based on the 8 Principles in the Beatitudes to help us with our hurts, habits, and hang-ups. A hurt, habit, or hang-up is ANY thing that hinders our walk with God.The feeling of being HURT is an emotional reaction to another person's behavior or to a disturbing situation (abuse, abandonment, codependency, divorce, relationship issues, etc.). A HABIT is an addiction to someone or something (alcoholism, drugs, food, gambling, sex, shopping, smoking, etc.). HANG-UPS are negative mental attitudes that are used to cope with people or adversity (anger, depression, fear, poor self-image, unforgiveness, etc.). These life problems can be stumbling blocks or stepping stones. Healing is available through applying the principles of a Bible based recovery process to our lives.

How to Become Part of the Front Street Family

First, we would like to thank you for your interest in Front Street.  Before becoming a member, we feel that you should truly understand our heart and vision before you join our church family, and the new member's class is designed to help you have a clear understanding of your new church family.

Please note that you are not required to join Front Street after attending the New Member's Class.  In fact, you will not be pressured in any way to join.  We want to encourage you to continue to seek God's will on whether He desires for you to plant your life here with us.

The new member's class is a four week class, held during the Sunday School hour.  The next class will be held  in August.  Those dates for the adult class or for the children's class are August 9, 16, 23 and 30.  To sign up for the adult class (which includes youth), or to sign your child up for the children's class, please contact the church office at (704) 872-7623 or email Pastor Tim at tim@frontstreet.org.

 THANK YOU:

To the Wonderful People of Front Street Baptist Church,

It is with a humble heart that I send this sincere "Thank You" to all who reached out to me during my surgery and recovery.  All the words of encouragement, beautiful cards, flowers, visits and a genuine expression of care and concern.  It is a joy to be a part of this wonderful body of believers.

Sandy Boyer

Dear Friends,

You have done so much for us that "Thank you" is not enough to say.

The peace lily is beautiful.

Your prayers have helped me in the hardest experience that I have ever had.

May God bless each of you,

Letha and Lynn Riddle
