A Word From the Pastor

Five members of our team return to NC Monday afternoon. The rest of the team is now in Cambodia with Kit, Avery, and Lucas.

The missions trip has been awesome. During our 20 events, our team held worship concerts for over 3000 people, trained around 700 worship leaders in three countries, and led Sunday morning worship for over 3000 people. We have so much to report to you soon. It is amazing at all we saw God do during these days.

Everyone on the team stayed very healthy throughout the worship events. The team worked together so well in everything they were required to do.

We are so thankful for all those that filled in for us while we were away. It's great to know that we have so many capable people at Front Street. We all look forward to being back with you this coming Sunday.

Thank you for your prayers,

Pastors Tim and Kenny

 Your Asia Mission Team:

Nathan Bost, Jacob Bradley, Pamela Farnsworth, Kaleb Gooden, Jason Hudson,  Charles Kincaid, Kenny Lamm, Dale and Diane McLelland, Kevin Reigle, Terrie Ross, Lana Smith, Tim Stutts and Doris Swaim.

It's time again to think about school starting back!  Over the next several weeks, we will be collecting school supplies for N. B.  August Young at Heart Meeting!

The August Young at Heart meeting will be on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at 11:00 a.m.  Our program will be presented by Renea Henderson of Ashboro, NC.  Some of us heard her at Caswell last April, and you WILL enjoy.  Following the program, our lunch will be catered by Box Car Grille at the cost of $2.25 per plate.  The menu consists of country fried steak, mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, rolls, and peach cobbler.

News...

Last Monday we studied SANITY, about making the right decisions based on God's truth. This week, August 10, we have a special guest speaker, our son, Brent Thompson. Brent will give his powerful testimony concerning cocaine addiction, and the miraculous healing powers of God, which led him into full time ministry with Teen Challenge. Also, we will have Kindred Spirit entertaining us with their unique talents and music. Please plan to join us for this exciting worship time to see what God is doing. You can be a part of this ministry as well. Please contact Dan or Brenda Thompson at (704) 779-7094 or CR@frontstreet.org.  We need you, Front Street!!

 Attention Young at Heart!

How to Become Part of the Front Street Family

First, we would like to thank you for your interest in Front Street.  Before becoming a member, we feel that you should truly understand our heart and vision before you join our church family, and the new member's class is designed to help you have a clear understanding of your new church family.

Please note that you are not required to join Front Street after attending the New Member's Class.  In fact, you will not be pressured in any way to join.  We want to encourage you to continue to seek God's will on whether He desires for you to plant your life here with us.

The new member's class is a four week class, held during the Sunday School hour.  The next class will be held  in October.  Those dates for the adult class or for the children's class are October 4, 11, 18 and 25.  To sign up for the adult class (which includes youth), or to sign your child up for the children's class, please contact the church office at (704) 872-7623 or email Pastor Tim at tim@frontstreet.org.
