Update From the Family Business Meeting

Last night at the Family Business Meeting, the church voted to approve the 2009-2010 Unified Church Budget as well as the Nominating Committee Report for the coming year. The church also voted to elect Mike Johnson, Barry Lang, Scott Mitcham and Randy Morrison as deacons for the next three years.

In our discussions involving Wednesday nights, there was a general consensus that different leadership teams should meet to discuss how to move forward from this point.  Once decisions have been made, we will make those known to the church body. Please continue to pray for God's leadership and direction as we seek His will.

This Sunday

Our sermon this Sunday will come from John 9:1-41. The passage speaks of a man who was excommunicated by the Pharisees. For this man, getting kicked out of religion was the greatest thing that happened to him. The reason this is so, is because he moved from religion to a relationship with Christ. My prayer for our church is that we are people not caught up in religion, but growing in our relationship and walk with our Savior. Religion has never saved anyone. In fact, religion is a burden upon the necks of people. Let's join together and pray that God would give us a fresh taste of His glory as we seek His face.

 Celebrate Recovery News.......

WOW!!!  What a great night of Christian testimony, food and fellowship Monday night as Pastor Brent Thompson, Teen Challenge Ministries of Los Angeles, California, shared the wonders of God's grace in deliverance from his 10-year addiction to crack cocaine.  Brent is now three years recovered and a full-time minister in the gang invested areas of LA helping others recover from addictions.    God is using Brent in powerful ways.  It was a joy to hear of God's love in turning bad situations in glory for His Kingdom.  In addition we enjoyed great live music from Kindred Spirits.   This band came to us from a sister Baptist church Celebrate Recovery program from Southside Baptist in Mooresville.  Kindred Spirits are serving God with their great musical talents and we very much appreciate them coming to Front Street to encourage our growth.     We encourage you to come to CR and check it out.   You'll be glad you did.  This mission is much needed by our community.  If you want to practice GRACISM, as we have been discussing in our Sunday Schools, this is a great place to begin!

Remember; NO CELEBRATE RECOVERY this coming Monday, August 17, due to the community Revival at Beulah Baptist Church.

The Blue beginner chips we receive at Celebrate Recovery state

My Grace is Sufficient for you...........    Do you know Why God says that?

As Paul spoke about regarding the thorn in his side and his own weaknesses......

But, he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."   Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10   NIV

Celebrate Recovery can provide you a safe place to share your experiences,  your weakness, strengths and hopes with others who are going through this Christ-centered program.  We come together to share in our weakness, for it is in our weakness that we gain strength.  We find that we are not alone and we reflect on Christ's grace and love to one another as we heal together.

What do I need to recover from?

Do any of these areas keep you from living a life full of Christ's Peace?

How to Become Part of the Front Street Family

First, we would like to thank you for your interest in Front Street.  Before becoming a member, we feel that you should truly understand our heart and vision before you join our church family, and the new member's class is designed to help you have a clear understanding of your new church family.

Please note that you are not required to join Front Street after attending the New Member's Class.  In fact, you will not be pressured in any way to join.  We want to encourage you to continue to seek God's will on whether He desires for you to plant your life here with us.
