A Word From the Pastor

This past weekend was great as we celebrated all that God has done in our church this past year, and turned our attention to all that is happening this coming year. It was good to hear from many of our mission partnerships and find out how we can continue to support them through our prayers, our giving, and our going to work alongside of them. I really appreciate Pastor Kenny, the missions team, those who decorated, those who hosted missionaries and those who prepared the food! Everyone did a marvelous job and the weekend was a great success.

This coming Sunday we will be back in John 10:22-42. This passage covers one of the most debated topics in all of Christianity.  It deals with the eternal security of each believer in Jesus Christ. In others words, can a person lose his or her salvation? I would ask you to pray through this passage in preparation for our time of worship together. I am thankful for how God is moving in our church and I pray that He will continue to pour out His Spirit on us as He molds us and shapes us into who He wants us to be.

I love you guys!

Pastor Tim

School Release

October 5-7

Your help is needed!

Coming October 4th through the 7th we will be hosting a school release with West High and West Middle School. Starting on the 4th we will have Christian Chapman, guest speaker for the event, preach in our Sunday morning service to begin a revival that will start at 6:30 p.m. nightly through Wednesday night. However, Sunday night will be normal Awana, youth and group studies.

On Monday through Wednesday morning beginning at 8:30am, one of the schools will be brought to the church for a crusade style service, then the other after lunch. We need as many workers as possible to help ride the buses to and from the schools as well as counseling after the services.

There may be as many as 200-250 teens coming each day, possibly more, and each of the two school releases thus far have seen over 200 decisions each. So, if you are available during school hours for those three days, we need your help. We hosted the first release last May and we saw God do some amazing things here. So if you want to be blessed, please get involved.

Thank you, Pastor Jeremy

Celebrate Recovery News.......

Are you noticing the Front Street Celebrate Recovery Signs around town?   We hope so.   CR is getting great results from advertising AND our ministry.  People are Sharing this ministry help and telling their friends.  We are averaging 30 people a week.   To God Be the Glory!      We will be having Live Music from a local Christian Band beginning in October.

Beth Hannis, from our mission church Grace Fellowship, led us in another great Monday night at Celebrate Recovery.   A special word for Thanks to Randy & Barbara Morrison for a fantastic meal of Chicken Pot Pie.  It was  UMMMMM, UMMMMM, Good!    Beth shared a powerful, testimony of God's deliverance from crack cocaine.   God delivered her from a  $1600 a day addiction habit.  It is hard to believe we can become so imprisoned in our sins.   Thank God for his Grace.   Praise to our Father for all He has done for Beth and us all.    It is wonderful to see that people's dedication to our Lord can often equal, if not surpass, their passion for sin.  When God delivers us from something so controlling in our lives, what we refer to as our signature (our chief, most repeated) sin, we should love the Lord with a greater compassion than ever before.    Just like the man that was blind from birth, when Jesus healed him giving him sight he was forever grateful and a servant of Christ.  When Christ heals us from hurts, habits and hang-ups, we also should forever be in His Service.

This coming Monday, September 28, we will study Principal 4:  Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God and to someone I trust.    Happy are the pure in Heart.  Matthew 5:8.    As we grow in our recovery, we learn we must take a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.   God's word says, "Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord."  Lamentations 3:40.    We will discuss how to take a moral inventory.  This is an important, but often very difficult step.      Be sure to join us.  You'll be Glad you did.

In Christ, Dan & Brenda Thompson

How to Become Part of the Front Street Family

First, we would like to thank you for your interest in Front Street.  Before becoming a member, we feel that you should truly understand our heart and vision before you join our church family, and the new member's class is designed to help you have a clear understanding of your new church family.

Please note that you are not required to join Front Street after attending the New Member's Class.  In fact, you will not be pressured in any way to join.  We want to encourage you to continue to seek God's will on whether He desires for you to plant your life here with us.

The new member's class is a four week class, held during the Sunday School hour.  The next class will be held  in October.  Those dates for the adult class or for the children's class are October 4, 11, 18 and 25.  To sign up for the adult class (which includes youth), or to sign your child up for the children's class, please contact the church office at (704) 872-7623 or email Pastor Tim at tim@frontstreet.org.

 Dear Church Family,

You have done so much for me and my family that "Thank You" is not enough to say.

The many memorials for Wayne, showing your love for him, were able to bless others.  The prayers, cards, food, visits and help with other needs, have sustained me through a very difficult time.

May God richly bless each of you.
