A Word From the Pastor

School Release Next Week

October 5-7, we have an awesome opportunity to make a huge impact in our community. The School Release that we had earlier this year was a tremendous success. During the three days we had in our last school release, we saw 270 people make first time decisions for Jesus Christ. Next week we will be working with West Iredell High School and West Iredell Middle School.

How can you help?

1.     You can help by covering this event in prayer - Pray that God would bring young people to faith in Him; pray that Christians in the school would strengthened in their walk and in sharing their faith; pray that as a church, we would love these youth and their families; pray that God would be glorified in all the events.

2.     You can help by being there during the day - We need adults who are willing to ride buses, welcome the kids and counsel the kids after the services.

3.     You can help by being at the services each night - Each night at 6:30, we will be having revival services. This would be a great opportunity for you to invite that friend you have been praying for.

We are very blessed to be able to take part in this event. Please read Pastor Jeremy's article for more specific information about times and needs. I can't wait to see how God is going to move next week. Let's begin to praise Him in advance for all that He is going to do!!

This coming Sunday morning, we will have the speaker for the school release as our guest speaker. Please pray for him as he prepares a message for our church.

Praise God for all His Mighty Acts!

Pastor Tim

Medical/Construction/Evangelism Missions Trip to Costa Rica

Potential savings over $200 if you book now!

A medical team made up of various health care professionals and  support personnel will minister to Nicaraguan refugees in Costa Rica.  The team will also have opportunity to provide medical treatment to local pastors and missionaries.  A construction team will be contributing their labor to help with projects of SCORE International.  The project would involve continuing development of a missions training center in San Jose.   Additional team members will be used to work with kids and help with evangelism at the refugee sites where our church will hold medical clinics.  The group will be housed at the SCORE International complex.  If you have interest in this missions trip, contact Kenny Lamm.  Deadline to sign up is November 15.  Space is limited.  $100 non-refundable deposit secures your space.

Dates: February 20-27, 2010
Cost: approximately $1,250 - $1,400

Fall Fun Fest!

Saturday, October 31
6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

We will be having our Fall Fun Fest on Saturday, October 31st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  This fun filled night will include "Trunks of Treats", hayrides, games, inflatables and more! Children are welcome to dress up in costumes that are not scary.  This event is for children of all ages. We will be inviting children from NB Mills, the Hispanic Church, and our neighborhood to join us.

We will be using this opportunity to give out tracts in hopes of spreading the gospel to the children and their families.  Our goal is to provide an alternative to the traditional celebration of Halloween as we reach out to families of our church and community. We can do that by providing a Christian environment that is safe and loving especially on this particular night of the year.

WAYS YOU CAN HELP

Donate candy. You can place your donations in the white baskets found throughout the church buildings.

Donate your time:  Open the trunk of your car and pass out candy.

We also need help during the Fun Fest with games and inflatables.

Please sign up on the bulletin board in the hallway leading to the Fellowship Hall and Education Building if you can help.

If there are other ways that you feel that you can help, please contact Karen Shea.

Thank you in advance for your participation and donations.  We are looking forward to seeing you there!

October is S.Y.B.A. Toy Store and Clothes Closet
Collection Month

Throughout the month of October, we will be collecting  toys for the Toy Store and new and gently used children's clothing for the Clothes Closet.  Please drop off your donations in the Global Missions Collection site in the Educational Building.

Thank you for your commitment to missions!

AWANA!

This coming Sunday night is:

Crazy Hat or Hair Night!

Come and be a part!

School Release

October 5-7

Your help is needed!

Coming October 4th through the 7th we will be hosting a school release with West High and West Middle School. Starting on the 4th we will have Christian Chapman, guest speaker for the event, preach in our Sunday morning service to begin a revival that will start at 6:30 p.m. nightly through Wednesday night. However, Sunday night will be normal Awana, youth and group studies.

On Monday through Wednesday morning beginning at 8:30am, one of the schools will be brought to the church for a crusade style service, then the other after lunch. We need as many workers as possible to help ride the buses to and from the schools as well as counseling after the services.

There may be as many as 200-250 teens coming each day, possibly more, and each of the two school releases thus far have seen over 200 decisions each. So, if you are available during school hours for those three days, we need your help. We hosted the first release last May and we saw God do some amazing things here. So if you want to be blessed, please get involved.

Thank you, Pastor Jeremy

Celebrate Recovery News.......

This upcoming week at Celebrate Recovery we have an important topic for all Front Street Members.   It is dealing with Sponsors and Accountability Partners.   We have a GREAT Need for both Sponsors and Accountability Partners for our CR participants.   You can be a sponsor for anyone that does not have a relationship with Christ as long as you truly have been saved and have a personal relationship with Christ.  Being a sponsor for most hurts, hang-ups and habits simply means you will help a person in their walk to learn more about God.   There is also a special need for drug and alcohol sponsors, but to fill this role you must have a minimum of two years clean & sober to assist another person as they work on sobriety.    Some of the questions we will probe this week are:

·         Why do I need a Sponsor?

·         What are the qualities of a Sponsor?

·         What does  a Sponsor do?

·         How do I find a Sponsor or Accountability Partner?

·         What is the difference in a Sponsor and an Accountability Partner?

This upcoming week we will meet in the Jabez room.   You are all welcome to join us any Monday at 6:30 p.m.

News and Announcements

Do you have news and announcements for Sunday Morning? If so, please send them to: news@frontstreet.org or call the church office by Thursday morning of that week. We will insert your announcement into our slide show presentation before the service begins. Please be sure to include any clipart or photos.

How to Become Part of the Front Street Family

First, we would like to thank you for your interest in Front Street.  Before becoming a member, we feel that you should truly understand our heart and vision before you join our church family, and the new member's class is designed to help you have a clear understanding of your new church family.

Please note that you are not required to join Front Street after attending the New Member's Class.  In fact, you will not be pressured in any way to join.  We want to encourage you to continue to seek God's will on whether He desires for you to plant your life here with us.

The new member's class is a four week class, held during the Sunday School hour.  The next class will be held  in October.  Those dates for the adult class or for the children's class are October 4, 11, 18 and 25.  To sign up for the adult class (which includes youth), or to sign your child up for the children's class, please contact the church office at (704) 872-7623 or email Pastor Tim at tim@frontstreet.org.
