A Word From the Pastor

Combined Worship Service

This coming Sunday, we have a chance to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Misión Bautista Hispana. God has done some amazing things through this church and they continue to make a tremendous impact in our community.

SPECIAL REQUEST

As we gather for worship this Sunday, I would love for us as a church to show our love to Pastor Daniel and his family. I would like to ask everyone to pick up a card, or even make one, to show them how greatly we appreciate their ministry. If you are able to bless them with a gift card, I know they would greatly appreciate that as well. Daniel and Lupita just had a baby girl on October 5 named Camila Nathalia Moore. They are a special family, and I pray that we can express our gratitude to them this Sunday.

Praise the Lord for all of His mighty acts!

Pastor Tim

 A Chance to Serve!

Front Street Baptist Church Service Opportunity!

WHO:
All members of Front Street Baptist Church

WHEN:
  Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

WHERE:
  South Yadkin Baptist Association

WHAT:
Pricing, organizing, and moving toys for the Association Toy Store

WHY:
We serve others so we can share Jesus - we are a part of the amazing Toy Store ministry and this is a way all members of our church can contribute the gift of time.

HOW:
Saturday, October 24th, we need many people to help price toys at the Baptist Center!  Anyone interested meet at the Baptist Center at 10:00 and we will work from 10-12 on Saturday morning to begin pricing, sorting, and counting the toys that have accumulated at the Baptist Center.

ALL YOUTH, YOUTH PARENTS & YOUTH LEADERS - go directly to Troutman Baptist Church at 10:00 to clean the Toy Store area and prepare it for the toys to arrive.  There is much work to do there.  Dress warmly as there isn't any heat on that floor and wear some old clothes as we will be cleaning some as well!

If you need directions to the Baptist Center or Troutman Baptist call Debbie Stewart at 704-871-1624 or email at 5stewarts@bellsouth.net
THE DARAJA CHILDREN'S CHOIR OF AFRICA
TO PERFORM IN STATESVILLE, NC!
Children from Kenya journey to inspire and share their culture with America

Cultures will unite when The Daraja Children's Choir of Africa will perform at Fairview Baptist Church on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 7:00pm to bring a message of joy and hope through African song and dance.

Daraja means "bridge" in Swahili, and the Choir, made up of 24 orphans and vulnerable children from Kenya, serve as a bridge to connect the people of Africa and America.  This is a life-changing opportunity for these children to learn and experience the American culture, as many of them have never experienced life outside of Kenya.  At the same time, Americans have the opportunity to step into the lives of these Kenyan children by hearing their testimonies and experiencing traditional African song and dance.

Fairview Baptist Church has been involved in Mission Projects in Kenya for the past two years and look forward to bringing this cultural experience to our community.  We hope that you will plan to join us for this exciting evening with the children of Kenya.  A Love offering will be received for the 410 Bridge Ministry Organization.  Also a store will be available with products from Africa for you to enjoy after the presentation.

The Choir is embarking on two U.S. tours this year, which includes a stop in (CITY).  In spite of dealing with unimaginable hardships, these children are overflowing with joy and love, which they are eager to share, as is evident in their performance.

The Daraja Children's Choir of Africa is part of The 410 Bridge, a non-profit organization focusing on mission work in Kenya.  The 410 Bridge exists to connect people within the body of Christ to contribute to the self-developing capabilities of the people of Kenya.

For more information on this topic and the organization, visit
www.410bridge.org  or www.DarajaChildrensChoir.com.

We will have an informational meeting Sunday night, October 25th, at 7:30 p.m. at Front Street (room to be determined).  I hope you will be able to attend.

How to Become Part of the Front Street Family

First, we would like to thank you for your interest in Front Street.  Before becoming a member, we feel that you should truly understand our heart and vision before you join our church family, and the new member's class is designed to help you have a clear understanding of your new church family.

Please note that you are not required to join Front Street after attending the New Member's Class.  In fact, you will not be pressured in any way to join.  We want to encourage you to continue to seek God's will on whether He desires for you to plant your life here with us.

The new member's class is a four week class, held during the Sunday School hour.  The next class will be held  in November.  Those dates for the adult class or for the children's class are November 1, 8, 15 and 22.  To sign up for the adult class (which includes youth), or to sign your child up for the children's class, please contact the church office at (704) 872-7623 or email Pastor Tim at tim@frontstreet.org.
