A Word From the Pastor

John 12:12-26

In our passage for this week, we will cover the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. As we have discussed over the last few weeks, there is an all out assault against Jesus. They religious leaders are determined to kill Him. Here He boldly fulfills the prophecy of Zechariah 9:9. The Messiah, the Blessed One of Israel is riding a donkey into Jerusalem. There is no hiding. There is no cover. Here is a bold proclamation by the Lord Jesus Christ that He is the King of Israel who has come to save His people.

As He and the disciples continued on, certain Greeks came desiring to see Jesus. As His disciples told Him about the people who wanted to see Him, He responded by saying: The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

I pray the Lord will help us to die to self so that we may follow Him with our whole heart.

I love you,

Pastor Tim

How to Become Part of the Front Street Family

First, we would like to thank you for your interest in Front Street.  Before becoming a member, we feel that you should truly understand our heart and vision before you join our church family, and the new member's class is designed to help you have a clear understanding of your new church family.

Please note that you are not required to join Front Street after attending the New Member's Class.  In fact, you will not be pressured in any way to join.  We want to encourage you to continue to seek God's will on whether He desires for you to plant your life here with us.

The new member's class is a four week class, held during the Sunday School hour.  The next class will be held  in January.  Those dates for the adult class or for the children's class are January 10, 17, 24 and 31.  To sign up for the adult class (which includes youth), or to sign your child up for the children's class, please contact the church office at (704) 872-7623 or email Pastor Tim at tim@frontstreet.org.

Celebrate Recovery News...

We had another great  meeting at Celebrate Recovery last Monday night.  Freon and Margo, from Catawba Heights Baptist Church Celebrate Recovery, shared music and testimonies.   We had 38 people in attendance.   Praise to God for Blessing this growing ministry.

Monday, November 9, Dan will teach Principal 4 and Step 4:   Inventory and Spiritual Inventory.   Step 4 is:   We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.  "Let us examine our ways and test them, and  us return to the Lord. "  Lamentations 3:40.    Principal 4 states Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God and to Someone I trust.  "Happy are the pure in heart."  Matthew 5:8    In this step we begin to learn the process of coming clean by examining our faults, confessing those to ourselves, God and - the hard part - someone we trust.     We find that our inventory, that is a written inventory, is the most difficult and time consuming step for all.    Be sure to join us at 6:30 for dinner, fellowship, praise and worship.  Our God is worthy!
