A Word From the Pastor

Some see the death of Jesus Christ as the ultimate defeat. Some believe that He failed in His attempt to overthrow the Roman government which resulted in His execution. This coming Sunday, we will be covering a large portion of Scripture from John 18. One of the verses that stands out so clearly to me is verse 4 which reads:
Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward...

These verses tell me that the death of Jesus Christ was by no means an accident or a failure. His death was God's will from before the foundations of the earth and He was obedient unto death, even the death of the cross (Phil. 2:8). It was through His death that God paid the ransom for our sins with the blood of His Own Son. We will take time this Sunday to observe the Lord's Supper as we reflect on the great sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Since this a lengthy passage this Sunday, I would like to ask you to take a little extra time reading through John 18:1-40 so that you will be very familiar with it Sunday morning.

Praising God for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ!

40 Days of Prayer

Day 35, Tuesday, March 23

* Pray that we would experience an increase in baptisms.  Baptism does not transform a life, but indicates that a life has been transformed.  Pray that God would use Front Street to make Himself known from Statesville to the ends of the Earth.

* Pray for the Senior Adult Choir as they rehearse today.

*IMPORTANT*  NB Mills Information

Because of Spring Break for the students, the Easter treat bags need to be delivered to the school on Wednesday, March 31st.  If you need assistance in getting these treat bags to the school, please bring them to the five year old SS class on Sunday, March 28th, and they will be delivered on the 31st.  The April teacher treat bags are due on April 12.  The treat for April is potato sticks, and the quote is "Thank you for always "sticking to it" with a great attitude". These treats need to be in the five year old SS class on Sunday, April 11, for assistance in delivery.  Thank you for all that you do for the teachers and students of NB Mills school.  You are appreciated!

How to Become Part of the Front Street Family

First, we would like to thank you for your interest in Front Street.  Before becoming a member, we feel that you should truly understand our heart and vision before you join our church family, and the new member's class is designed to help you have a clear understanding of your new church family.

Please note that you are not required to join Front Street after attending the New Member's Class.  In fact, you will not be pressured in any way to join.  We want to encourage you to continue to seek God's will on whether He desires for you to plant your life here with us.

The new member's class is a four week class, held during the Sunday School hour.  The next class will be held  in April.  Those dates for the adult class or for the children's class are April 11, 18, 25 and May 2.  To sign up for the adult class (which includes youth), or to sign your child up for the children's class, please contact the church office at (704) 872-7623 or email Pastor Tim at tim@frontstreet.org.
