I hate that I could not be with you this past Sunday. I
appreciate all of your prayers and your concern. Since I was
not able to preach Sunday, I need to ask a special favor.
Sunday, I was not able to cover John 18 as I had planned.
Wednesday, we will be covering John 19 in our Holy Week
mid-week service. Therefore, I would like to ask each of you
to spend some time in John 18 between now and Wednesday so you
will have a good understanding of the things leading up to
chapter 19. Here are some of the key elements of the passage:
·
Jesus
enters the Garden of Gethsemane
o
Jesus
is confronted by the Temple Guard and Judas (John
18:1-7)
§
Jesus,
knowing what is going to happen, continues in
obedience (John 18:4)
o
Jesus
seeks to protect the disciples (John 18:8-9)
o
Jesus
rebukes Peter (John 18:10-11)
·
Peter
denies the Lord on three occasions
o
First
Denial (John 18:15-18)
o
Second
Denial (John 18:25)
o
Third
Denial (John 18:26-27)
·
Christ
faces three trials
o
Trial
before Annas, former high priest (John 18:12-14,
19-23)
o
Trail
before Caiaphas, current high priest (John 18:24)
o
Trail
before Pilate, the Roman governor (John 18:28-40)
I
hope you will join us Wednesday night as we take this very
special time to focus on the death of our Lord Jesus Christ.
There can be no rejoicing on resurrection morning if there is
no death on Good Friday. Jesus never once told us to remember
His birth or to celebrate it but He did institute the Lord's
Supper so that we would remember His death until He comes.
Awaiting
His return,

How to Become Part of the
Front Street Family
First, we would like to thank
you for your interest in Front Street. Before becoming a
member, we feel that you should truly understand our heart and
vision before you join our church family, and the new member's
class is designed to help you have a clear understanding of
your new church family.
Please note that you are not
required to join Front Street after attending the New Member's
Class. In fact,
you will not be pressured in any way to join. We want to encourage
you to continue to seek God's will on whether He desires for
you to plant your life here with us.
The new member's class is a
four week class, held during the Sunday School hour. The next class will be
held in
April. Those
dates for the adult class or for the children's
class are April 11, 18, 25 and
May 2.
To sign up for the adult class (which includes
youth), or to sign your child up for the children's
class, please contact the church office at (704) 872-7623
or email Pastor Tim at tim@frontstreet.org.
