Dare to Be a Disciple - John 21:15-25

This Sunday will be our last Sunday in the book of John. As we have gone through these 21 chapters, we have learned so much about the love of the Savior for His children as well as what He expects of us.

Our final message in the book of John is Dare to Be a Disciple. We know that as believers, we are all called to be disciples of Jesus Christ. So the question is: what are the things that set apart a true disciple of Christ? Remember to read through the book of Mark this week.  As you do, I believe it will provide great insight into being the disciple He has called each of us to be.

I hope you will make every effort to attend our Family Business Meeting this coming Wednesday night at 6:30 in the sanctuary. Love you guys and look forward to seeing you then!

Pastor Tim

Family Business Meeting

On January 25, 2009, it was discussed in the Family Business Meeting (FBM) that Ricky Adams was getting prices for renovating the church sanctuary. Over the last 15 months, Ricky has worked with several contractors to find the one that seemed to fit our needs the best. At the January 2010 FBM, Ricky reported that he had received some preliminary numbers and planned to meet with the Governing Council next. Based on that meeting the Governing Council makes the following recommendation: The Governing Council recommends that the church grants permission to the Building Committee, working in conjunction with the Church Council, to proceed with the sanctuary renovations in a cost not to exceed $240,000.

There is a second recommendation coming from the Governing Council concerning funds from the King estate and Lamb estate. This recommendation states: We of the Governing Council move that, as in the past, a tenth, or as we say, a tithe, of that money be put into a temporary restricted account to be used for God's work by our Jerusalem Team for local missions.

How to Become Part of the Front Street Family

First, we would like to thank you for your interest in Front Street.  Before becoming a member, we feel that you should truly understand our heart and vision before you join our church family, and the new member's class is designed to help you have a clear understanding of your new church family.

Please note that you are not required to join Front Street after attending the New Member's Class.  In fact, you will not be pressured in any way to join.  We want to encourage you to continue to seek God's will on whether He desires for you to plant your life here with us.

The new member's class is a four week class, held during the Sunday School hour.  The next class will be held  in April.  Those dates for the adult class or for the children's class are April 11, 18, 25 and May 2.  To sign up for the adult class (which includes youth), or to sign your child up for the children's class, please contact the church office at (704) 872-7623 or email Pastor Tim at tim@frontstreet.org.
