Youth Opportunities for Involvement:

Sunday School
Our Sunday school classes are divided into junior high girls (6th-8th grade), junior high boys (6th-8th grades), 9th and 10th grade combined, and 11th and 12th grade combined. The curriculum we use is a seven year plan that helps the students build a biblical foundation. Sunday school meets at 9:00 am.

Sunday Serve
Immediately following Sunday school, our teens are serving in various ministries throughout the church. Whether they are helping with the children’s Sunday worship program, keeping the nursery, greeting visitors as they come in, ministering to one of our shut-ins, or other numerous areas of service, they are exercising their spiritual gifts and gaining valuable experience. Because we want to purposefully invest in the next generation, we want our students to learn about commitment, teamwork, responsibility, and the joy that comes from using the gifts that God has given the believer to edify and serve the body of Christ.

Sunday Night Worship
Beginning at 5:30, our Sunday nights are devoted to connecting our teens to God through a dynamic worship service, challenging them with a message from the Scripture, and providing them with an atmosphere of Christian fun and fellowship. We want our Sunday nights to be a safe haven and place of refuge for our teens to come and have fun together, be encouraged, and receive tools that they can use to go out and live a solid Christian life in their schools and communities.

Wednesday nights
Each Wednesday night is a time of prayer and Bible study in the youth room. Beginning at 6:30, this service is a time when we meet together and pray, and engage in an in-depth, verse-by-verse study of God’s Word. This night is intended to increase our student’s understanding of the importance of God’s Word in their lives and its relevance for keeping them holy in an unholy world.

Camp
In the summer, we provide the teens an opportunity to attend a Christian camp, It is an important week in our ministry that sets the tone for the summer and early fall. The goal of camp is to get them away from their normal life and focus them on Christ. Many salvation, ministry, and life-changing decisions have resulted from a week of camp.

Missions
Our goal for missions is to offer our teens as many opportunities as possible to serve. We believe it is essential to get them out of their comfort zones and invest themselves in the lives of others, plus we want them to get as early a start as possible when it comes to fulfilling the Great Commission. We take a mission trip every summer, alternating international and domestic trips. We also have a Home Mission Week in the summer where we focus on local ministries and evangelism.

Youth Ministry

I Timothy 4:12
“Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.”

The Youth Leadership Team of Front Street Baptist Church believes youth are searching for more than fun and games. We believe they are searching for the answers to life’s questions. One of the greatest myths in youth ministry is that the youth are the church of tomorrow. We believe that youth are the church of today, and God is doing some awesome things through youth in this church and across the country. That is why we are intentional in helping youth discover the truths of God’s Word and how it applies to their lives. We are also intentional in helping them discover their gifts so they can begin serving God today instead of tomorrow.

At Front Street, youth have a place of importance. They are seen as a vital part of our church and our ministry. We hold to the truths of I Timothy 4:12 and believe our youth are showing themselves as examples to the rest of our church and our community. God has richly blessed us with youth who are passionate about living for Jesus.
